His inquiries involve several individuals connected to the subject of the letters, Angela Barnhart, including Professor Hobson and Coach Ritko. The investigation takes a dark turn following the mysterious death of Professor Hobson. The tension culminates at the stadium, where Templer discovers that Buzz Barnhart is responsible for the letters and ultimately falls to his death during a confrontation.
